Dick Gregory on The Last Word
Oct 17, 2011. Dick Gregory, who began his activism in the Civil Rights movement of the 1960's, speaks about the current Wall Street Demonstrations. The adulation bestowed upon him by Lawrence O'Donnell is a little syrupy. CH

"Healing at the Speed of Sound"
An interview with Don Campbell, co-author of "Healing at the Speed of Sound"... Campbell talks about his studies and those of others, that reveal certain sensory needs of the human being. There is a need for quiet (sometimes) and order in sound. Certain kinds of music bring calm and order. The WHO (World Health Organization) has pointed out the negative health effects of sound pollution. His mission is to improve the quality of sound, to improve the quality of life.
It's an hour long interview, but worth a listen. There are some questions that follow...Like: Are we equally affected by the wealth of other forms of stimulus that bombard all day long? Do I do myself harm by insisting on falling asleep with the TV on? Does constantly checking and responding to texts and emails, mask a need for a quiet mind, or a need to focus myself in nothingness.
But I digress. Campbell's concern is healing with sound. Relax, sit back and consider how you might alter your life by choosing different forms of stimulus. Or, no stimulus at all. CH

More Than You Bargained For!
Freud on the Beach: Wave Theory - NYTimes.com:
A blog post by Andy Martin is available at the above link. He muses on the source and meaning of feelings of "transcendence."
It is possible for you to get "more than you bargained for." But, first there must be a bargain. You must have a vision, engage and do the work. Often there is more than you bargained for. CH

Snowmobile Accident
An awesome snowmobile accident, the driver could have been seriously injured. The helmet mounted camera gives us a ringside seat. Happy Trails! CH
The Classic: Howard v. Morehouse
The AT&T Classic: Howard beat Morehouse, but more importantly than that, one of our own Na'Tasha Jones has created a lively compelling piece for the Howard University News Service and our consumption. Sorry I didn't see this earlier.

9/11 WTC Photos
This is a video on what photographers saw and experienced on 9/11. I think it's an edit of a History Channel piece. We watched this and a piece called the "Falling Man" in class. That's an hour long, but worth the watch, as a reporter attempts to i.d. one of the victims photographed the day of the catastrophe.
